Fleet traffic-fine control: from the infraction notice to identifying the driver

Fines imported, linked to the vehicle, the trip and the driver; driver-identification and appeal deadlines under control; deducted from the settlement when policy allows.

Fleet traffic-fine control solves two losses: the driver-identification deadline that passes (and the fine becomes the company’s, with a heavier penalty) and the fine paid without knowing who was driving. In BrainCargo’s module the violation is imported and linked to the vehicle, the trip and the driver scheduled that day; identification and appeal deadlines sit in the alerts hub; and the deduction, when applicable, goes to the driver’s settlement — all inside fleet management.

The advantage of handling fines in the same system as the operation is knowing who had the vehicle: the schedule and the trip name the driver, and identification happens within the deadline. Without it, the company pays twice: once for the fine and again in the extra work of finding the driver, filling in the form and racing the calendar.

Fines are part of the fleet management module and talk to driver settlement and the driver scheduling.

Why this module

Driver identified within the deadline

The trip and driver schedule say who was driving; the deadline sits in the alerts hub.

Appeals with history

Defense, appeals board and outcome recorded per violation.

Deduction without argument

The assigned fine enters the driver settlement per policy.

Driving-license compliance

Points per driver tracked in the fleet’s rules matrix.

How to handle a fine in 4 steps

  1. Import the violation

Notice number, traffic authority, date, place, violation and amount enter the system, linked to the vehicle.

  2. Find out who was driving

The day’s trip and driver schedule point to the driver; confirm and record the identification within the deadline.

  3. Appeal when applicable

The appeal (prior defense (pre-penalty representation), appeals board) and its outcome stay in the history, with the deadline in the alerts hub.

  4. Close: payment, deduction and points

The paid fine becomes a vehicle expense; deduction goes to the driver settlement when policy provides; points enter compliance.

Frequently asked questions

What is the deadline to identify the driver of a fine?

The deadline is the one printed on the notice of violation sent by the traffic authority (under Brazil’s traffic code, driver indication happens within the notice period). The system records the notice date and alerts before it expires; always confirm the deadline printed on the notice.

Can the fine be deducted from the driver?

It depends on the contract, the collective agreement and company policy. The system assigns the violation to the driver and, when policy provides, posts the deduction in the driver settlement with the receipt.

How do I know who was driving the vehicle on the fine’s date?

From the trip and driver schedule recorded in the system: the violation’s date and time cross-reference with the driver allocated to the vehicle at that moment.

Does the system appeal the fine automatically?

No. The appeal is filed by the company with the traffic authority; the system controls the deadline, stores the case number and the outcome.
