Carrier system: tax, delivery, routing, fleet and financials in one place
CT-e, MDF-e, CIOT and NF-e in the cloud; proof of delivery via the driver app; a routing engine; fleet management; financials from freight note to cash; WMS and WhatsApp — modules you subscribe separately and use together, with no long lock-in.
A carrier system must cover four fronts that live apart on spreadsheets: tax-document compliance (CT-e, the electronic freight bill of lading; MDF-e, the electronic manifest of fiscal documents; CIOT, the freight-operation identifier; and NF-e, the electronic goods invoice — with certificate, Sefaz, the state tax authority, and ANTT, the federal road-freight regulator), operations (routing, sequencing, the driver app and proof of delivery with photo, signature and GPS), the fleet (tires, maintenance, documents, fines) and financials (freight note, invoicing, boleto (bank slip) and PIX (instant payment) collection, driver settlement, P&L). BrainCargo delivers all four as independent modules on the same master data: the carrier hires what it needs — from the CT-e issuer to the warehouse WMS — with no long lock-in, a free driver app and an API for your ERP.
The difference between a “carrier system” and a generic TMS is in Brazil’s details: the CIOT that rides on the MDF-e, ANTT’s minimum freight checked before the CT-e, the owner-operator settlement with withholdings, the paper receipt that becomes an electronic proof and the customer who asks on WhatsApp where the cargo is. It’s at these points that the right module saves a person at the office.
Below, what each module solves, who each is for and how to choose — and, at the end, the questions every carrier asks before switching systems.
What you can achieve
4
tax documents in one dispatch
CT-e, MDF-e, CIOT and NF-e with up-front validation, ANTT’s minimum freight checked and toll vouchers integrated.
0
paper receipts
Proof of delivery with photo, signature and GPS via the app — or over WhatsApp, installing nothing.
1
master data for everything
Customers, vehicles, drivers and the certificate serve tax, operations, fleet and financials.
Monthly
or yearly
Monthly with no commitment, or yearly at a lower price: modules join and leave each cycle, with the driver app free on every plan.
Why this module
Built for Brazilian freight
CIOT on the MDF-e, the minimum-freight floor, owner-operator settlement, municipal NFS-e, mandatory toll vouchers — rules a generic TMS doesn’t know.
Modular for real
Each module is subscribed separately and uses the same master data; nothing forces buying the whole package.
Free driver app
Android and iOS, with no driver limit; whoever doesn’t install uses the QR-code trip sheet or WhatsApp.
API for your ERP
Documented REST integration for those who already have an ERP or TMS and want just the tax, delivery or WMS slice.
How to choose the system for your carrier, in 4 steps
Start with the pain that costs money today; the rest joins when it makes sense.
-
Map where the money leaks
Sefaz rejections, a forgotten CIOT, receipts that don’t come back, freight below the floor, settlement on a spreadsheet, tires without CPK. Each one points to a module.
-
Test the module with real data
Issue a CT-e, run a route with yesterday’s orders, prove a delivery. Usually the account is activated the same day, with the A1 certificate in hand.
-
Demand that the modules work together
The CT-e must become the MDF-e without re-typing; delivery must reach invoicing; the fine must find the driver via the trip. If each module has its own records, it isn’t one system.
-
Grow by module, not by contract
With no long lock-in, the next module joins when the operation calls for it — WMS when the warehouse becomes a service, financials when collection tightens.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best system for a carrier?
The one that covers Brazilian tax end to end (CT-e, MDF-e, CIOT, NF-e, ANTT’s freight floor), proves delivery without paper, talks to fleet and financials on the same master data, and lets the carrier hire by module. That is BrainCargo’s design; the test is issuing a CT-e and proving a delivery with your own data.
What is the difference between a TMS, an ERP and a carrier system?
A TMS manages transport (trips, freights, documents); an ERP manages the company (financials, purchasing, accounting); a carrier system brings the TMS together with transport tax, delivery, fleet and the carrier’s financials. BrainCargo is modular: it can be just the tax issuer next to your ERP, or the whole system.
Does it work for a small carrier?
Yes. Modules join one at a time, the driver app is free, there is a free tax-document plan (10 CT-e and MDF-e issuances per month combined), activated by our team on first contact, and Financials has a simplified mode for smaller operations.
How much does a carrier system cost?
In BrainCargo the price is per module and follows the operation’s size (vehicles, documents or depositors), with no long lock-in. Values come in the quote, over WhatsApp, in a few minutes.
Do I have to replace my ERP?
No. BrainCargo’s REST API integrates tax, delivery and the WMS with the ERP or TMS you already use; many carriers start with just the CT-e and MDF-e issuer.
Which systems do carriers use?
It ranges from spreadsheets to large ERPs. The pattern that repeats among those growing: a reliable tax issuer, digital proof of delivery, routing and financials generated from the CT-e — the four most-hired BrainCargo modules.
